Cessaro Horn Acoustics is one of those brands that defies direct comparison. Founded in 2006, its mission has always been unwavering: to elevate the horn loudspeaker concept to its absolute pinnacle, without technical, aesthetic, or financial compromise.

At Cessaro, high-end is not a label—it is a radical commitment. Every system is designed and built with a single goal: to recreate the live musical experience. This pursuit demands extreme components, unconventional materials, and artisanal processes that very few manufacturers are willing ( or able ) to undertake. Size, cost, and complexity are never limitations when the result justifies them.

The latest update to the range represents a significant technical leap forward compared to previous generations. To achieve this, Cessaro has established top-tier collaborations, including Leica Microsystems AG, responsible for supplying specific transducers where the historic TAD units   ( now fully integrated into the brand’s own structure ) are not employed. The result is a clear evolution, with substantial improvements and even greater overall coherence.

Cessaro plays in the same league as absolute references from other worlds: Pagani in automotive engineering, Leica in photography, or Château Pétrus in wine. Here, the question is not how much it costs, but when.

Without exaggeration, this is the epitome of global electroacoustics.

Speaker Diapason

Diapason is an Italian firm that understands the loudspeaker as a natural extension of music, not as an isolated exercise in engineering. Founded with a deep connection to Italy’s musical tradition, its philosophy is built around a clear principle: the naturalness of timbre is non-negotiable.

Each Diapason loudspeaker is designed and built with meticulous attention to tonal balance, coherence, and long-term musicality. They do not seek to impress through technical gimmicks or eye-catching aesthetics, but rather to deliver an honest, refined, and deeply emotional reproduction, true to the spirit of real instruments.

Wood, handcrafted finishes, and carefully studied proportions play an active role in the sound itself. At Diapason, form and function move forward together, resulting in products of timeless beauty and exemplary acoustic performance.

The result is an elegant, fluid, and natural sound, capable of connecting with the listener without fatigue, without exaggeration, and without the need for explanation.A sound that is understood through listening alone.

Engstrom sound

Engström is a small, family-run Swedish company founded by engineer Lars Engström and industrial designer Timo Engström, with a very clear vision: to recover sound in its most original, natural, and purist form.

For Engström, an amplifier is not a piece of technology, but a musical instrument. For this reason, each unit is hand-assembled with obsessive attention to precision engineering and an aesthetic faithful to Scandinavian design (restrained, functional, and timeless).

The result is amplification of the highest level, internationally recognized for its musicality, coherence, and complete absence of artifice.

Engström does not seek to impress at first listen, but to win you over in the long term, reaching (why not say it) the heart of those who truly love this passion.

Thales turntable

Thales

is a Swiss company specializing in reference turntables and tonearms, internationally recognized for its unique mathematical and mechanical approach. Its founder, Micha Huber, has devoted decades to solving one of vinyl’s great compromises: tracking error.

Through advanced geometric solutions (such as its tangential tracking tonearms without added friction), Thales achieves extraordinarily precise groove reading, reducing distortion and record wear without resorting to complex or unstable systems.

Each Thales product is manufactured in Switzerland with extreme tolerances, high-quality materials, and a level of finishing worthy of precision watchmaking. Everything serves a clear objective: to make the engineering disappear, leaving only the music.

The result is stable, silent analog reproduction of exceptional naturalness, where soundstage, timbre, and micro-detail flow effortlessly and without artifice.

EMT-Tontechnik

is a historic German company founded in 1940, whose legacy is closely tied to the professional world of recording and broadcasting. For decades, its turntables, tonearms, and cartridges have been the reference standard in radio studios, mastering rooms, and sound archives around the world.

Unlike many brands focused on the domestic market, EMT develops its products from a professional, functional standpoint, where precision, reliability, and long-term stability are paramount. Nothing is superfluous; every technical decision is driven by real, demanding use.

Its legendary moving-coil cartridges and direct-drive turntables are renowned for their solid, dynamic, and extraordinarily coherent reproduction, with a unique ability to preserve timing, musical structure, and the essential information contained in the recording.

EMT does not seek to impress through artificial refinements or pleasing aesthetics. Its value lies in absolute sonic honesty, forged through decades of professional experience and engineering designed to work flawlessly.

Jean Maurer hifi

Jean Maurer is a Swiss artisanal manufacturer that embodies one of the purest and most coherent visions of contemporary high-end loudspeaker design. In a sector where outsourcing is common, it is exceptional to find a brand that designs and builds its enclosures, crossovers, and drivers entirely in-house, maintaining absolute control over the process under a clearly “luthier”-inspired philosophy.

Jean Maurer’s technical development is guided by a principle as simple as it is demanding: the human voice as the absolute reference. For this reason, the focus lies on the critical range between 700 Hz and 2,800 Hz, where human hearing is most sensitive and where much of musical realism is determined. The result is a midrange reproduction of extraordinary naturalness, precision, and emotional credibility.

Each model is built around three clearly defined technical ideals: a dedicated midrange driver responsible for timbre and accuracy, a woofer providing depth and body, and an extremely fast tweeter for high frequencies. All of this is governed by crossovers of uncommon substance, featuring large-mass coils, thick-gauge copper without magnetic cores, and oversized polypropylene capacitors.

None of this would make sense without an enclosure to match. For this reason, Jean Maurer loudspeakers are housed in inert cabinets with integrated quartz sand between the walls, reducing unwanted resonances and also facilitating correct placement within the listening room. Structural silence is, here, an active part of the sound.

Sternklang

Sternklang is a Japanese high-end cable manufacturer founded by Koji Teramura, whose philosophy departs from traditional approaches. Its objective is clear: to maximize musical energy while minimizing the mechanical load imposed on the conductor.

According to Teramura, the sound of a cable depends on the balance between the vibrational properties of the conductor and the pressure exerted by the insulation on its surface. Excess mass and control damp the signal. For this reason, Sternklang abandons the classic concept of rigid insulators designed to block external vibrations, as these tend to trap energy and dull the music.

The Ephemera series employs ultra-thin foil conductors with large surface area and low elasticity, while the Sarume series applies this philosophy to a coaxial geometry using a silver-gold alloy. The result is an extremely clean, quiet, and lively transmission.

In listening, Sternklang stands out for its exceptional sonic calm, deep soundstage, and a sensation of complete absence of noise. Nothing is missing; the veil that once artificially inflated the sound simply disappears.

The Sarume and Ephemera series are no longer a secret and today offer one of the best performance-to-price ratios in high-end audio. Sternklang is not analyzed , it is felt.

Phyton Resonators

PhiTon ResonaTors is a Swiss company based in Lugano, led by engineer Corrado Faccioni, which approaches sound from an uncommon perspective: applied physics, with no added electronics, no artifices, and no empty promises.

Its work starts from a clear premise: sound is the sum of multiple frequencies that are rarely aligned in phase and time. Through strategically placed mechanical elements, PhiTon manages to harmonize vibrations and organize the system’s energetic behavior, acting in a passive and fully reversible manner.

This technology does not originate in domestic audio, but in the world of acoustic musical instruments (pianos, violins, cellos, double basses) and in professional recording environments. It is no coincidence that top-level musicians such as Carlos Santana, Dave Holland, Wayne Shorter, or Christian McBride use solutions developed by Faccioni.

Applied to high-fidelity systems, PhiTon resonators allow fine adjustment of the system, improving coherence, naturalness, and a sense of flow without altering the inherent character of each component. They replace nothing: they tune.

Fuuga

Fuuga is the result of nearly three years of research and development driven by two key figures in Japanese analog audio: Osamu Nagao and Tetsuya Sukehiro. Its origin is closely linked to the legacy of Miyabi, one of the most admired phono cartridges in history.

Nagao, a veteran analog specialist closely associated with Haruo Takeda (creator of Miyabi), decided to revive that sonic spirit after Takeda’s definitive retirement. To achieve this, he joined forces with Sukehiro, a designer with extensive experience in OEM/ODM manufacturing of high-end analog components.

They soon realized that reproducing Miyabi was impossible: materials no longer available and unrepeatable processes made it so. Instead of copying, they chose to create a completely new cartridge, equally musical and expressive, but developed from the ground up. Nagao precisely defined the desired sonic character; Sukehiro brought it to life through exhaustive technical work.

The development focused on resonance control, structural rigidity, and mass management, integrating uncommon solutions such as a highly reinforced magnetic circuit and a multilayer duralumin housing, selected after extensive testing for its sonic neutrality.

The result is a natural, dynamic, and deeply musical cartridge that honors the spirit of Miyabi without being anchored to the past.

Konus analogic tune

Konus Audio was founded in 1997 by Sead Lejlić, a renowned consultant associated with some of the most respected Japanese brands in the analog sector, such as 47Labs, Miyabi, RS Labs, or Fuuga. This deep connection with Japanese culture would definitively shape his understanding of audio.

In 2016, Sead decided to take a step further and launch his own product line, handcrafted entirely by himself. Each unit is built using state-of-the-art components and, whenever possible, N.O.S. parts, leveraging his knowledge and privileged access to the Japanese market.

The result is a proposal with a zen, minimalist, and honest aesthetic, offering a level of sonic quality that is surprising and hard to find at these price points. Konus does not seek to dazzle with numbers or rhetoric, but to redefine the concept of high-end from a more grounded place: musicality, coherence, and genuine enjoyment.

With a low profile and far removed from commercial noise, Konus Audio has managed to connect with enthusiasts who do not merely listen to music, but live it, understanding that this is the true core of the hobby.

As Sead likes to say: “High-end is not about high prices, but about quality, enjoyment, and above all, music.”

Konus audio

STST is the personal project of German engineer Stefan Strohmets, an analog concept conceived with technical rigor and executed through a clearly artisanal philosophy. Its turntables, available with or without a three-point suspended chassis, share the same conceptual core: low-torque direct drive, a high-density, high-inertia platter, and an absolute obsession with mechanical control.

Beneath an appearance of restrained elegance and apparent simplicity lies a level of complexity, development, and engineering well above average, clearly aimed at the advanced user who values thoughtful design over commercial artifice.

Each unit is handcrafted, with the possibility of customized finishes and exotic woods, following an almost “luthier”-like philosophy. As a natural consequence of this approach, production is limited and delivery times are extended: there is no mass production here, only discernment and craftsmanship.
